I am an Amsterdam based portrait and reportage photographer working on assignment for professionals who need photography for use on their websites, social and printed media. I run a client friendly and service oriented business and strive to create stunning images tailored to the specific needs of my clients. It is my belief that the best way of achieving this goal is teamwork and open communication between client and photographer.
Of Australian heritage, I was born in Canada while my parents were travelling through Northern America. Eventually we settled in Southern California and became American Citizens. But the adventure didn’t stop there. My father’s wanderlust had us living in Madrid (2yrs), Bilbao (2yrs) and during my high school years in Taipei, Taiwan. Living in different countries and experiencing so many new things from a young age, gave me the skill of being able to observe and quickly adapt to new situations. It is also what I enjoy most about being a photographer: meeting and working with different kinds of people, all of whom have a different story to tell. Next to my commercial work I also consider myself to be a visual artist exploring broad themes such as family ties, sense of home, youth, aging and body politics. To make a photo I need other people that have something that I recognize in myself. In this sense my work is always a collaboration between myself and the person in front of my camera.
Since 1992 I have been living and working in Amsterdam. With the birth of my son I now consider The Netherlands to be my home.
