The temporary city of Black Rock City in the Nevada desert is home to one of the world's largest annual art events: Burning Man. This festival, which for a week brings together more than 65,000 people in a desert, has the characteristics of a temporary utopia, but also of a pagan festival that ends in apotheosis by the fire of a great human image. Yet the burning man unites his community around a fairly extensive philosophy, which the organizers have tried to structure by means of the explanation of ten rules that deal with individual (free expression, self-management) and collective (voluntary work, prohibition of trade, creativity in common) morals. The following report tells about the personal experience and the perception of the event by Emeric Fohlen during his participation in 2015 and 2017.
