The Mille Miglia (1000 miles) is a famous car rally for oldtimers en sports cars. The street race is in fact a driving automobile museum. The race was organised for the first time in 1927 and it was abolished in 1957 because of the large number of accidents during the trip. Since 1982 the Mille Miglia has been restored, with exclusive cars that also drove the old Mille Miglia, that is made between 1927 and 1957. All the well-known brands take part and every year there are also many famous participants from the sport and the showbizz. There are 375 cars allowed to participate in the rally and there are thousands of registrations every year from all over the world.
The selection is therefore strict. Only models of cars that have previously participated in the historic rally are allowed. Or cars of brands that have a great reputation for car and rally sports. Participation is not cheap, per car you pay 7300 euros, that includes all overnight stays and the meals along the way.
