U Okraina literally means on the border. A country that has been a bridge between Europe and Russia for hundreds of years. The ancient homeland of the Kiev Russian, Ukraine, was created, divided, rebuilt and redistributed over the centuries under Russian, Austro-Hungarian, Polish, Romanian and Turkish influences.
If we follow current events, it seems that western Ukraine is rebelling against Russian claims that affect the region. The collected testimonies represent a much more complex reality, in which life stories and different visions coexist.
When, on the one hand, the intelligentsia of Lviv claims its province with Europe, in the agricultural areas of the Chernivsti oblast, on the border with Moldova and Romania, people tell about a multi-ethnic country where few people speak Ukrainian and where the origin has never been a real problem.
