Zandsuppletie op het strand van Heemskerk, Noord-Holland.
The dutch coast is subject to erosion and also needs to be protected against rising sealevels. Sand is being taken from the seabed, some 10 miles off of the coast, and then transported onto the beaches to raise the height of the dunes and beaches. A spectacle that draws lots of spectators.
