Greece, Lesbos, Moria, 21 July 2018
A minor Syrian paralyzed showing his bullet wound at the Olive Grove informal extension to the refugee camp Moria on the Greek island Lesvos. The camp is built for 3, 000 people, but now hosts 8, 000. As refugees continue to arrive on the island the situation in Moria refugee camp is descending into chaos. There are frequent clashes, riots, and incidents of sexual violence, and the conditions of the camp are harming refugees mental health. The EU-Turkey deal is not effective as a deterrence policy.
